I loved this book, it's somewhat similar to [b:All Systems Red|32758901|All Systems Red (The Murderbot Diaries, #1)|Martha Wells|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1631585309l/32758901._SY75_.jpg|53349516] but I would say that Tchaikovsky plays a far more robot robot. I think murderbot generally blurs the line between human and machine whereas Uncharles is very much a believable robot through and through.

I did feel the final act of the book was the least interesting but it did not detract from the overall impact of the book and still had a few poignant moments. There were a few moments where there was something rather obvious being foreshadowed and the author kept underlining the hints which was a little annoying in the final act but overall it's exactly what I wanted and expected after reading the sample.
Interestingly I had just finished [b:A Short Stay in Hell|13456414|A Short Stay in Hell|Steven L. Peck|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1328629682l/13456414._SY75_.jpg|18985342] which had passing relevance to one of the earlier chapters, so that was nice!
