A swift yet satisfying adventure filled with just the sort of grim, occult components I've come to expect from Coy Hall, "Rider in the Widow Lands" delivers.

In spite of its brevity, this story presents a complete and nuanced experience that feels like it could be part of a much larger world or narrative, but confidently stands on its own.

If you're already a fan of Hall's tales of speculative fiction, "Rider in the Widow Lands" will almost certainly serve as a welcome little treasure to add to your collection. If you're new to them, I believe it would be an excellent place to begin your journey before exploring his longer works.
