Robin Hobb is one of my favorite authors. The last 3 tales in this collection are hers, and I really enjoyed them.

I didn't really enjoy the Megan Lindholm ones, which is the same author's first pen name. I'm not entirely sure whether that's due to the style or the length; it's been a long time since I read short stories, and I was reminded while reading these that I don't really like short stories. It makes sense when I stop and realize that my favorite stories are epic tales with many intertwining threads: short stories just leave me wanting.

I did, however, enjoy the peek into a favorite author's mind, background, and process a bit, through her introductions - one for the book plus one for each tale.
