Parent Takeaway

This is such a sweet, old fashioned series! Sure to be a favorite with tween girls as the main girl is always setting up the dearest and cutest little shops or houses, or schools etc. It is best to read them in order as they do build upon each other a little.

In this particular book, the Big Eight (eight wonderful friends) are delighted when Maida's father tells them that they have a boat to play in all summer. But what happens to them one day when they're in the boat will surprise Maida fans - an adventure story awaits!
